Eastertide draws to a close with a period of intensive waiting and prayer. This rich mini-season within a season begins with Ascension Day (May 21st), marking the end of Jesus’ post-resurrection appearances to his disciples and his return to his heavenly Father, and Pentecost, or Whitsunday (May 31st) when the Spirit alighted on the twelve disciples as they gathered in prayer.

We celebrate this season 1. with key elements of the services for the two festivals up-loaded onto the websites of the parish, including a sermon by a member of the clergy Team to help us ‘keep the feast’; and 2. A ‘novena’ or nine-day vigil of prayer and meditation through the intervening days. For that period our theme will be the Fruit of the Spirit described by St Paul in his Letter to the Galatians (5.22-23). Each ‘Thought for the Day’ will discuss one of the nine ‘fruits’, and a related prayer will also appear on the website for each of the nine days.

Recordings of services and other resources are available on this webpage . Please check regularly for updates.
